Our Mission
Our Mission is to be a community of disciples with a heart for God and hands to help others.
WHO ARE WE? QUICK STATS & OVERVIEW
- Founded in 1943, we are a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
- 200+ in weekly worship: infants – 97-year-olds, multi-generational, young families and older adults with growing racial diversity.
- We have as many former Catholics as well as life-long Presbyterians.
- Characterized by strong children & youth programs: Nursery, Sunday School, mid-week Logos TOWN for grade-school aged kids, Middle School Youth Fellowship, Senior High Youth Fellowship. We regularly have 165 children in our Vacation Bible School – 2/3 of whom are not from our congregation.
- Two worship services during the school year: 9:00am Traditional (Organ) and 11:15am Praise (Band), and a single 10:00am summer service that combines both styles.
- Emphasis on outreach to those who are hurting in the world. We house the largest food pantry in Elmhurst, regularly staff a PADS site for the homeless in the winter, send both adults and youth on mission work trips and support many other causes with our mission dollars.
- Value small groups outside of worship as a profound opportunity for members to create deep bonds with others and grow in their faith. 40% of those in worship on Sunday are in a small group.
- Annual budget (Local Ministry & Mission) = $585,000.
