Every Sunday, from 09/12/2021 to 05/15/2022, 10:10 AM - 11:10 AM
Preschool through 5th grade begin each week with Assembly, a mini worship experience, in Reid Hall. During this time, the children sing praises, learn and say different types of prayers, and give offering, some of which goes to the Heifer Project. Each child is also treated with a homemade cookie as a snack. Once Assembly is over, the children are led by their teachers and/or shepherds to their respective classes. Preschoolers have their own curriculum and special classroom. Kindergarten meets in its own classroom and follows the Hands-On Bible curriculum. 1st/2nd and 3rd through 5th grade classes use the same curriculum, Deep Blue, which is adjusted to their cognitive abilities.
YPC offers Sunday School classes for all children and youth ages 3 years through senior in high school from September through the middle of May. Classes run from 10:10 a.m. to 11:05 a.m. which is between the two worship services. The primary goal for Sunday School is that the children and youth may grow in their knowledge and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. All age groups are taught using varying interactive teaching strategies. Younger children may be engaged with the Scripture lesson by acting out the Bible stories or doing an art project. We have a dedicated group of volunteer teachers and shepherds who all go through Child Protection training . We do have at least two adults for each classroom group as per our policy. The Director of Children and Youth Ministries, along with the Christian Education commission, oversee these teachers and programs.
