CWS CROP Walk - Sunday, October 7

The Elmhurst CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 7.  Check-in is at 1:30 p.m. and the walk will step off at 2 p.m. These walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others to raise funds to end hunger in the United States and around the world.

On Sunday, October 7, members of the community will join together in a three mile walk around Elmhurst to bring awareness of hunger in our own community and the world. Twenty-five percent of donations will be given to two area food pantries: the Bensenville Food Pantry and the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry.

Click the web address to the right to go to the YPC team page or enter www.crophungerwalk.org/elmhurstil/YPC

At the website, you can register or make a financial donation. YPC has a team and you can donate and/or join the team! The Elmhurst CROP Walk is for people (and pets) of all ages.

High School Youth Ministry FROG Q&AFROG

FROG meetings are a time for youth and families to check in and ask questions about the program and upcoming events.  We will meet about an hour before the regular meeting time. There will be pizza for those that attend (since it will be during dinner time). Youth Fellowship decided to call these FROG nights (Food Responses Observation & Gathering). Our next FROG night is October 14 at 5:15 p.m. at church. Come ask questions, learn about upcoming events and grab some pizza.  RIBBIT!

CURRITO FUNDRAISER - OCTOBER 15

Throughout the day on Monday, October 15, a fundraiser will be held at Currito (272 North York Street in Elmhurst - across the street and just south of Hamburger Heaven). Twenty percent of all sales will go towards the youth ministry program of YPC.  Specifically, the money will help defray the cost of the winter youth retreat.  Come have breakfast, lunch and dinner anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. on October 15.  Place your receipt in the box next to the register and 20% will go towards our youth.  You do not need a flyer, but the information can be found by clicking on the image below.

HIGH SCHOOL 2018 YOUTH WINTER RETREAT - NOV 30 - DEC 2

All high school youth are invited to come have a great weekend away at Camp Timber-Lee in East Troy, Wisconsin. There are some great things planned for the weekend including a campfire, outside fun activities, a planned encounter with some of the animals at the camp, and a whole lot more!!!  Tentatively, we plan to leave from YPC at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30 and we will eat supper along the way. We will return to YPC on Sunday, December 2 in the early afternoon.

The cost for the trip is $105* (This includes the camp fee of $94 and $11 for transportation and supplies) The Currito  restaurant fundraiser (see above) scheduled for October 15 will hopefully reduce the overall fee.  Fill out the permission form and liability waiver and return it to the church office as soon as possible. Payment for the retreat is due by Friday, November 16.  Come have some winter fun at camp!
